Annual Pumpkin Drop, November 1-3
The Roberts family/Real Estate Professionals are hosting their 6th Annual Pumpkin Drop at MMEC! Please drop off your pumpkins (no paint, marker, wax, candles, or toothpicks) at MMEC from November 1-3. They use the pumpkins to feed animals at the Alice Sanctuary and Cochrane Ecological Institute.
Picture Retakes: November 12
The photographer will return to both campuses on the morning of November 12.

Program Transition Event, November 12
Is your child moving into Casa, grade 1, grade 4, or grade 7 in September 2027?
Please join us for the MMEC Program Transition Event at the main campus on Thursday, November 12! It begins immediately after school.
While this event is particularly targeted to families in their final year of a cycle who are preparing to transition to a new class, all families are welcome. The MMEC Program Transition Event will offer a preview of our Montessori and Alberta educational programs, work samples, lessons, information on the next stage of development, and a chance to speak with the Guides. You are welcome to visit all levels.

Save the Date: Hide N Seek, November 19th, 5-7:30 pm
The MMEC Student Leadership Team is holding a family fun night on November 19th from 5 pm – 7:30 pm at Hide N Seek Indoor Playground (49 Aero Dr NE #18). We rented the entire venue, including play areas and climbers for babies, toddlers, and children. All siblings and all ages are welcome.

Usborne Literacy Fair & Book Sale is coming to MMEC!
Thursday, Dec 3rd & Friday, Dec 4th, 2026, in the library.
The annual Usborne Book Fair is back. Please come out and support your school and see Usborne’s award-winning range of entertaining and educational books for children from toddlers to teens. During Parent-Guide Conference days, there will be lots of sample books on display, including many NEW titles! You will also have a chance to preview approximately 2,000 titles from the catalogue.
Your purchases will earn 25% of the retail sales in FREE BOOKS for your classrooms and school library. The Librarian will also have the school’s “Wish List” posted in case you would like to donate through our ADOPT-A-BOOK program. Usborne will add a “book donated by…” sticky label to each item purchased.
Usborne also offers a highly regarded range of reading books from very first steps in reading up to titles for confident readers, as well as many titles which complement & enrich the Alberta Curriculum for all Preschool, Elementary and Junior High grades. Shop for home, school, the car, travel, gifts, and more! Any purchases will be ordered and delivered to the school approximately 2 weeks later.
If you cannot make it to the Book Fair in person but would like to show your support, a website will be available for online orders December 3rd – 4th. Free shipping to the school will be available for these orders if you use the specific Usborne website customized for MMEC. Further details will be sent out the week of the Book Fair.
