Maria Montessori Education Centre of Calgary, located in Southern Alberta, acknowledges the Indigenous lands where its community resides, works, learns, and plays. This land includes the traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. We are dedicated to embracing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action and to increase our knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis and Inuit histories, cultures, and experiences and perspectives, including the legacy of residential schools and treaties; we will undertake these actions with respect, remembrance, and the spirit of reconciliation.
